Dr. Rachel Haug will be the featured artist of the night, as the Symphony performs Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in G Major.
A native Winonan, Rachel Haug is a freelance flutist, orchestral musician, and private instructor in the Minneapolis area. In addition to her responsibilities as Flute Instructor at Winona State University, where she teaches applied flute lessons, flute choir, and woodwind techniques, she is the Director of Flute Sales and Flute Specialist at Schmitt Music. She maintains an active private flute studio in the Twin Cities, and her students are frequently accepted to All-State Band and Orchestra, summer festivals, and other honors ensembles. Dr. Haug also serves as Principal Flute with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Principal Flute with the Winona Symphony Orchestra, interim Second Flute with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed with the Minnesota Opera (2024).
