WSO is excited to present our partnership with the Minnesota Marine Art Museum to bring you “Water Music”, evenings that marry two art forms and celebrate their shared inspiration.

With a nod toward Veteran’s Day and celebrating the freedoms won for our country, our first chamber concert will center around the magnificent and monumental painting, Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty, and include compositions by the patriotic Randall Thompson.  Exploring the effect of luminism in creating lightness and clarity, this program emphasizes the use of color modulation in the artwork and tonal color of the newly invented clarinet which fascinated Mozart and inspired his Clarinet Quintet.
